How do I sign up?

To get started, all you need to do is complete Cantor Exchange's simple online application.

Please note that currently our front-end system only connects to the Cantor Exchange. We intend to connect to other exchanges in the near future.

Does it cost money to open an account?

No. There is no fee to open an exchange account using the TradeWx website.

Can I sign up with different logins?

No. You should only have one login for your exchange account using TradeWx.

What if I already have an exchange account?

If you already have a Cantor Exchange account, for instance, that accesses the Exchange forex & metals markets, you will need to create a new account to access the Cantor Exchange weather market through TradeWx. 

To open a new Cantor Exchange account to access the Exchange weather market, please complete the Cantor Exchange online application via the TradeWx website. Note that you must use the same email address as your original Cantor Exchange forex & metals account. 

All Cantor Exchange weather accounts opened through TradeWx are separate from Cantor Exchange forex & metals accounts, including separate reporting sites, separate funding, etc.

Note, if you have funds in your Cantor Exchange forex & metals account, these funds will not be readily available in your Cantor Exchange weather account. If you would like to transfer funds between your Cantor Exchange accounts, please contact Cantor Exchange Customer Service.

If you already have an exchange account but it is not with the Cantor Exchange, please contact TradeWx Customer Service. Our goal is to connect several exchanges that offer weather-related products.

Can I open an account as an entity?

If you are interested in opening an entity account with the Cantor Exchange, please contact Cantor Exchange Customer Service.

How do I change my password?

To change your password, once you are logged in click the My Account menu item. You will be brought to the Account tab. You can view a short summary of your account information on this page. Click the Change Password button, enter your old password and new password in the Change Password window, and click Save Changes. Your account password will be updated.

I forgot my password. How can I reset it?

To reset your password, click the Login/Sign Up button in the top right corner of the TradeWx website and click Forgot Password. A Reset Password window will appear, enter your email address in the window and click Reset Password. You will receive an email from participants@cantorexchange.com with a link to let you reset your password.

How do I fund my account?

All funds deposited through the Cantor Exchange website are deposited with Cantor Clearinghouse. Please visit the educational extension of the Cantor Exchange, CX Markets, to learn more about funding your TradeWx account.

Note that different exchanges have different funding procedures.

Is there a minimum deposit requirement?

No. Participants can deposit whatever amount they feel comfortable with to get started. For the Cantor Exchange, however, you will need the consent of the Cantor Exchange to deposit an amount less than $100 or to withdraw funds within 60 days after deposit. You will need to have sufficient funds in your account to cover the cost of the premium for the protection you wish to purchase.

How do I withdraw funds from my account?

All withdrawals are processed with Cantor Clearinghouse, through the Cantor Exchange website. Please visit the educational extension of the Exchange, CX Markets, to learn more about withdrawing funds from your account.

Note that different exchanges have different withdrawal procedures.

Is there a minimum withdrawal requirement?

No. You can withdraw however much of your funds that you wish. For the Cantor Exchange, however, you will need the consent of the Cantor Exchange to withdraw an amount less than $50 or to withdraw funds within 60 days after deposit.

Can I transfer funds from my Cantor Exchange FOREX & metals account to my Cantor Exchange weather account and vice versa?

Yes. If you would like to transfer funds between your Cantor Exchange accounts, please contact Cantor Exchange Customer Service.

Can I transfer funds to a different user?

No.

How do I see what transactions I currently have open?

To see what transactions you currently have open, click My Account in the top menu and go to the Orders & Protection tab. All of your currently open transactions will be listed in the Protection Purchased area or the Protection Sold area. All of your currently open transactions make up your account portfolio.

How do I see my open orders?

To view your open or pending orders, click My Account in the top menu and go to the Orders & Protection tab. All of your open orders will be listed in the Pending Orders area.

How do I see my Account History?

You can review your currently open transactions and orders on the Orders & Protection tab under the My Account menu.

For Cantor Exchange users, to view more detailed reports about historical transactions in your account (including your entire Order History, Gain/Loss History, etc.), please visit the Cantor Exchange weather reporting site by clicking My Account in the top menu, going to the History tab, and clicking the View Reports button. Cantor Exchange provides a number of detailed reports regarding your account and activity. You can sign into the Cantor Exchange weather reporting site using the same login that your normally use on the TradeWx site.

How do I collect my payout?

If the next storm makes landfall within 75 miles of my selected location (for purchases), or more than 75 miles away from my selected location (for sales), then you will receive a payout based on the amount of protection that you purchased, typically within 24 hours of the storm making landfall. Your payout will be credited to your trading account. If your purchase or sale results in an incorrect outcome, then the transaction expires without any payment and you will have lost the amount of your initial premium that you paid for the transaction.

Are there tax implications on my winnings?

You should consult a tax professional for any tax advice. We provide you with the information you might need from your trading activity in your account reports. We cannot provide any personalized trading tax advice.

Can I hold my earnings in my account or do I have to take the funds out?

You can keep your earnings in your trading account for as long as you wish.
